On Tejo
"Generations of Colombia men have played tejo, the country's curious national sport, in which competitors, often drunkenly, lob disks at boxes filled with mud, hoping to strike a paper triangle stuffed with gunpowder 60 feet away."

How The Average US Consumer Spends Their Income
I've always wondered how much one "should" spend on travel and food. As income goes up, I assume much more is spent on those items, but I wondered if the chart levels off or it it is directly proportional to income.
According to this (BLS stats), the average person spends about 10% of their income on food and 4.4% of their income on "entertainment." (Which I believe includes travel)

Happiness Facts of the Day
*The pursuit of happiness can actually backfire, say experts at the Universitiy of Denver. People who place a high value on happness have, on average, 17 more symptoms of depression than those who don't.
*A week of vacation is nice, but the eleation you get from it is mostly in the anticipation, say Dutch researchers. They found that planning a vacation can improve your mood for up to two months before the actual trip. Unfortunately, the moment you get home, you're no more or less content than someone who hadn't gone away.
*According to research, happiness is about 50 percent genetic, 10 percent influenced by life circumstances, and 40 percent influenced by how you think and act every day.
