Pay-What-You-Wish Pricing

I wonder what the average percent someone gives when they are told there is pay-what-you-wish pricing. For example, at a recent pay-what-you-wish theatre night, I believe the clerk said that most people give between $4 - $9 dollars - averaging somewhere around $5. I imagine that an actual ticket is around $20 - $30, and thus, people are giving about 25% of the full cost.
