World's Most Expensive Tasting Menus

Number 10, Eigensinn Farm, is no joke...

"In 1993, top Toronto chef Michael Stadtlander bought 100 acres of Ontario wilderness and opened one of the most unusual restaurants in North America. Eigensinn Farm serves no more than 10 diners a night, does not have a liquor license (guests bring their own) and does virtually no marketing. Guests, who fly in from all over the world, are treated to a completely intimate experience and a hyperseasonal eight-course menu made primarily with organic ingredients grown by the chef."

1. L'Arpege (Paris): $466
2. Alaine Ducasse Plaza (Athene, Paris): $437
3. Guy Savoy (Paris): $402
4. Masa (NYC): $400
5. Pierre Gagnaire (Paris): $373
6. Joel Rubuchon At The Mansion, MGM Grand (Las Vegas): $360
7. Louis XV, Alain Ducasse (Monaco): $307
8. La Pergola (Rome): $267
9. Ithaa Undersea Restaurant, Hilton Maldives Resort & Spa, Rangali Island: $250

L'Arpege, l’Arpege! Not sure making to the top of the list is an honorable accomplishment, though. Weak USD must be one of the factors. Regardless of its price tag, it was a memorable dining experience.

Description for Pierre Gagnaire is clever: "...At the height of his fame, he went bankrupt. Now, his customers risk doing the same at this eponymous Parisian jewel."

Eigensinn Farm sounds very intriguing - would love to go sometday...but I would suppose it has a loooooooong waiting list.
