World's Most Expensive Universities

Looks like $40,000/year is the cost ceiling these days. But as soon as one college/university breaks that, $50,000 likely will be the new mark... In fact, Vermon's Landmark College ($41,275/year), which caters to students with learning disabilities, was purposely left out of the rankings...Let the race begin.

1. George Washington University (GWU) - $38,240/year
2. Kenyon College - $38,140/year
3. Bucknell University - $38,134/year
4. Vassar College - $38,115/year
5. Sarah Lawrence College - $38,090/year

"This may surprise you: The world’s most expensive universities are not haute institutions in the Swiss Alps or on the balmy shores of the Persian Gulf. Nor are they the Ivy League citadels of America’s elite like Harvard or Princeton, or ancient halls of learning like Cambridge or Oxford in the United Kingdom. No, according to The Chronicle of Higher Education, the most expensive four-year university in the U.S. (and most likely the world) is Washington, D.C.’s George Washington University, with a price tag of $39,240 in 2007-2008."

GW! $152,960 for a BA!! You shall never skip a class. Interesting that the artcile referred to Aoyama - didn't know it was the most expensive school in Japan. Not sure about them, but at Keio I remember the tuition for the elementary school was the highest, and gradually decline as you advance to the higher education. Is it the case in the States too?
